Another Kindacute by Patricia new releases

Today I have another of the new releases from Kindacute by Patricia.  As Halloween approaches its nice to have some cute images to turn into cards.  I much prefer cute rather than scary images for Halloween.  Not that we even celebrate it here in NZ.  This is Cookie Boy.  What a sweet little costume for trick or treating.

Cookie Boy is coloured in pencil and the card design kept simple,  I always think this suits Patricia's images.  He will be available Friday 6th September along with the other new releases.

Hope to see you back soon

Kindacute by Patricia September release

Yes its time for the new release at Kindacute by Patricia.  This and the other new releases will be available in store on Friday 6th September.  The one I am sharing today is all dressed up and ready for Trick or Treating.  This is the very sweet little Bear Kid.  I have coloured him in pencil and as I like for Patricia's images kept the card design simple.

He looks pretty scary don't you think.  If he said Boo!! you'd probably give him a big hug.

Come back tomorrow for another preview.

New Challenge at Southern Girls!!!

Yes its time for a new challenge at Southern Girls.  The theme is spring showers and as I look out my window there are some very black threatening clouds out there and the temperature has dropped, not very spring like but I do have freesias about to burst into flower.

As always we have wonderful sponsors and my image is from the very talented Heather Valentine of the Colour of Love.  Its called peace possum.  Ok so I printed it a bit smaller than I intended, not sure what happened and then I went to print the image a bit bigger and ran out of ink.  SO had to go with the mini possum but it worked out ok, just a little harder to get detail in the colouring.

For all the details pop on over to the blog and join in the challenge

Tomtes at Lili of the Valley

Tomtes come to Lili of the Valley.  "What is a Tomte?" I hear you ask. Well Tomte is Swedish, in english we would probably call them gnomes.  They are solitary, mischievous domestic spirits, responsible for the protection and welfare of a homestead and its buildings.   These little fellows are Christmas Tomtes and pretty darn cute.

As with my snowman card shared a few days back I have kept my little Tomte mini and used a large sentiment in the background.  I actually really like this look and have a few more in the process.  I took the opacity of the sentiment down to a soft grey so it doesn't appear to over power the card.  The Tomte is coloured in pencil and popped up on foam to give him a bit more presence.  He has several friends so go take a look when they are available in store on the 25th August.

Christmas at LOTV

Christmas images continue to come to Lili of the Valley.  These ones are so cute.  There is a collection of mini snowmen, which of course being digis can be any size you like.  A set of Tomtes which are little gnomes and some gorgeous new sentiments.

I have kept the images small, as they were designed as minis, and used the sentiments as the background.  I changed the opacity of the sentiment to make it a soft grey so it doesn't over power the card.  I really like this for a change.   The little snowman is coloured in pencil and fussy cut.  Popped on foam so he's not lost in the background.

These images will be available as digis on the 25th August.

Cute right???

August Release at Frantic Stamper

The August Release at Frantic Stamper are now available in the store.  Ita a Fall/Halloween release.  Something for everyone.  Here is a selection of cards made using the release dies.

These two specifically Halloween featuring Cat on a Broom and Creepy Cat.   I have used classic orange and black.  There is a list of the dies, with links to the store below.  A collection of new and some older release dies.

These next three are more thanksgiving and fall cards although they can be used for any number of cards.  The leave would be gorgeous as a wedding or sympathy card.  The fox, which comes with dies to make a racoon could be used anywhere as could the scarecrow.  Both are build dies and great fun to use.

Another Kindacute by Patricia new release

Today I have another new release from Kindacute by Patricia.  These are back to school monsters.  Mum is seeing her little one off to school.  My monsters are bright and cheerful and I thought the sentiment worked perfectly.

They are coloured in pencil and a pretty simple card design.  I always think Patricias, images are great without too much embellishing.  I did add some glossy accents to mum's glasses and a little flower to her hat.

All the new digital releases are available 2 August.

New Release at Kindacute By Patricia

Its new release time at Kindacute by Patricia. This handsome fellow surely is the best.  He looks as proud as punch about something.  Its a great generic image that could be used for all sorts of occasions from Birthdays to pick me up's.

I coloured him in pencil and in no specific colour combination but maybe there is a rooster that has feather like this....maybe!!

All new digital images will be available 2 August.

More Christmas...

Today is another of the upcoming release of Christmas images from Lili of the Valley.  This one I sized to fit the entire card which is easy to do with digital stamps.  Another little hint is to take the opacity of the image down a little so its not a strong black unless of course you prefer that.  I like a dark grey rather than a black unless its a very stylised image but I think this type of image is nicer coloured with a softer line, especially with pencils.  Another thing I do is print using the draft method which not only uses less ink but stops the bleeding sometimes caused with blending pencil.

This is not strictly a Christmas card as I used turquoise and a  warmest wishes sentiment, which makes it a little less seasonal.

Tis and other new Christmas images are available for purchase 25th July.

Another Christmas Image.

Today I have another christians image from LOTV.  There are a few coming with this frame style.  You are going to love them.  They remind me of the Wind in the Willows.  This one is for all the hedgehog lovers out there.

I did it to match the one I shared a few days back.  In a slightly vintage washed out style.  This one also has glitter in the background and a simple card design.  The beauty with digital; stamps is you can size them to suit your project.

This and other new Christmas images will be available July 25th.

Bye for now

Christmas is coming!!!

Well Christmas is coming early to LOTV.  I hope its still a way off in reality.  No one does Christmas images quite like Lili of the Vally.  This is one being released 25th July with quite a few others.  Its a cross between Wind in the Willows and Peter Rabbit with a lotv twist.  In other words... super super  cute.

I coloured this in pencil.  I tried to keep it kind of vintagey by using a softer stamped line and washing the colours a little. I added some glitter in the background for a little sparkle and to go with the vintage style.  The card design is simple just a little glitter card and some red card stock to finish.

Its that time again.....

Yes it's that time again....time for a new challenge at Southern Girls.  This time its all about stripes.  Single colour, multicolour or monochrome.  The choice is endless.  All the details are on the blog and we have 2 wonderful sponsors.

My card uses a very cute image called Cow in a Dress from A Day for Daisies.  I gave her little striped socks to go with her very pretty dress.

Chocolate

I had some fun with these chocolate dies.  I have to agree with that sentiment.  Life is short eat chocolate first.  Not a bad mantra to live by really.

The actual chocolate bar is cut down in size as the die cuts a card panel.  I simply turned it into a chocolate bar which was easy to do and makes this die very versatile. I think you could even use it as bricks.  The chocolate bar is popped up on foam adding some dimension with the Chocolate die placed on top.

These dies and more are available in the Frantic Stamper store now.

Go eat some chocolate!!!

Retro Coffee Set from Frantic Stamper

I do like retro and this Retro coffee set is no exception.  I used retro colours to create this little coffee scene.  Its clean and simple which again suits the retro style.  The Kraft strip is detailed using the new Stitched Sweet Swirls card panel.  Perfect for adding some detail to plain card stock, I can see this being used a lot.  I'm guessing the sentiment is very true. I bet many a great idea did in fact start with coffee.

This Frantic Stamper release is full of lots of coffee and chocolate themed products and is available in store now.

Friends forever just seemed to suit this image so well.

Thank you

Time for a new release at Kindacute by Patricia.  Such a sweet little image.

She is coloured in pencil and I added the grass to the bottom.  I thought the sentiment Thank you was appropriate for this image but you could use anything you likes.  This and the other new digital releases will be available on Friday.  Go take a peak, I'm sure you'll find something you like.

Never Fear the Coffee is near

What a great sentiment Never Fear the Coffee is near.  Boy do I sometimes really relate to that.  The June release at Frantic Stamper is all about Chocolate and Coffee.  Two of mine and I'm sure your favourite things.

This card features the new Coffee to Go and Macarons die sets with the coffee stamp set.  The little cup and saucer is from the stamp set and I used it to create my background.  The sentiment is from the same set.

I die cut several macarons in traditional pastel shades to stack around the coffee cup.  Coffee and macarons are the perfect pairing.

For these and more new dies and stamps visit the Frantic Stamper store.  You'll not be disappointed.

Birthday Wishes

Hi there as we approach the end of May.  Winter is upon us although we have had a very mild autumn down here.  We normally have a wet autumn but its been quite dry until today.  The rain is set to continue with a drop in temperatures over the next few days.

Anyway I'm here today to share a Happy Birthday mouse from LOTV.  This is another of the new images and honestly this set of new releases are just so cute and adorable.  Perfect whether you like clean and simple or embellished.  This little cutie is coloured in pencil.  The sentiments come as part of the set which is a real bonus and I do like this font.

He is coloured using pencil and I added some bright and cheerful yellow gingham to add to the sunshine coming from this little fellow.

Have a Lovely Day

I do wish you a lovely day.  This is a new image from LOTV.  Available as a rubber stamp for a limited time and as a digital image.  I coloured this little cutie in pencil.  First thought he was a bear then I realised he had a slightly different tail to a bear and is in fact a mouse.  Not sure what I was thinking but there you go.

I added some peachy orange to match the pot and to keep it bright and cheery with some of my favourite gingham paper.

There will be a few more new images over the next few days so do pop back.

May Digital Release from Kindacute by Patricia

It's May already and that means new digital stamp releases from Kindacute by Patricia.  First up is this gorgeous wee dragon holding a little bird.  This is not Kindacute but really cute!! I coloured it in pencil and went for purple and orange with accents of white.  For the background just some very simple cloud stencilling and a sentiment "You are truly amazing".  I do think that's what these two are saying to each other :-). Pop to the facebook group or the store for this and all the other new releases for May.

Fishing Seagull

Seagulls love fishing not always with a fishing rod though.  This is another of the new releases from Kindacute by Patricia.  He was really  quick and easy to colour.  I love the expression on his face, he looks a little disconcerted that he actually caught a little fish so I went with a "Get Well Soon" sentiment.  I'm sure the fish will make it through.  Coloured in pencil, with a simple card design pulling out the lime green of the seagulls hat.  There are other new releases so pop to the facebook group or the store to see them all.  I'll have another tomorrow so some back for a look at another lovely image.

Industrial with a feminine touch.

Even thought the new release at Frantic Stamper is Industrial in theme, I thought I would give the dies a feminine touch.  I used the Steampunk frame and the Roman Clock from this release with some lovely Graphic 45 papers to make a Mothers Day card.  The big Happy die is from a previous release.

These dies although prefect for masculine cards are also great for feminine cards, really very versatile, as are all of the Frantic Stamper dies.

New Challenge time

Yes it is new challenge time at Southern Girls.  This round we want you to "frame it'.  We have great sponsors giving prizes once again.  My card uses a very lovely sentiment stamp from Darkroom  Door an Australian stamp Company. I stamped it and then jazzed it up a bit by framing each letter in black and adding a bit of detail with a white gel pen.  Its a great sentiment to remember and inspire.

I paired the sentiment up with an image from Brandi Kincaid who designs for Ellen Hutson.  Just worked so perfectly together.

Come join us, we love to see your creations.

Amazing Sweetie!!

It's another digital image release from Kindacute by Patricia.   This little gymnast is such a sweetie
and just perfect for the sentiment.  It's good to remember that even though you may not think so you are doing amazing things and to also remind others of the same.

I coloured her in pencil and framed her in paper to match her leotard.  A simple layout which I think  show off Patricia's images perfectly.

This and the other April releases will be available in store on April 5th.

Well kind of  but maybe not what you thought when you read Light Bulb moment.  Its time for a new release at Frantic Stamper.  Its a Grads and Industrial theme.  These Light Bulbs are just great and really fun to work with.  I went for a retro look using red, cream and dark grey.  I paired the bulbs up with the Chevron Borders and edgers, another great die to have in your stash.  The sentiments you could use with these dies are endless, from "you did it" to "shine brightly".  And....brilliant for masculine cards (see what I did there).

Super Bird!!

Today I am Sharing a new release from Kindacute by Patricia.  You can make this fellow as friendly or sinister as you desire.  I decided to go super hero!!  You could make him a crow or a pigeon or a parrot of sorts like I have.  I paired him up with the "Bam" to really give it a super hero look.  Both fun and quirky.  Perfect for boys.

This is a single layer card with the bird coloured in pencil.  The star and Bam are die cut and I simply glued them in place.

Keep an on the store for this and more new releases.

Hello March!!

Yes indeed it is March already,  It would seem this year is going to fly past as quickly as the last one.  My 2 young adults are off to University, it only seems like yesterday they were starting primary school.  It has been a year so far of adjusting to new normals.  For once I am very thankful for social media and ability it gives to stay in touch on a daily basis. Snap Chat is my new friend!! It's hard to imagine in years gone by waiting for a letter to arrive to get news from your child a week or two after it has happened.

Anyway today is the 1st of March and I'm sharing another of the new LOTV images.  This one is from the Spring Sweeties set and although its very hard to choose just may be one of my favourites from the release.

These little sheep are just the sweetest peeping through the window.  I coloured them in pencil before fussy cutting the window and popping it up on foam.  The card design is really simple but these little sweeties don't need a lot of embellishing.

These new stamp sets from Lili of the Valley are going to be very popular so be quick.

Thanks for your visit today,

It's another bunny!!

Yes it's another bunny and I make no apologies.  How could you not love this little fellow.  He's another of the new stamps from Lili of the Valley, from the fluffy birthday set.  Just love the name of this set and it has 4 super cute stamps including the lovely sentiment.

I coloured him in pencil the die cut using a stitched circle die.  The background paper is from an old LOTV paper pad.  I added a simple scalloped border and a few pearls before popping the circle up on foam.

Another super cute image,  go take a look on the website but be warmed the new stamps are chocker block loaded with cuteness that will be hard to resist,

Spring is coming to LOTV

Spring is coming to LOTV but autumn is coming to New Zealand.  There is a definite change in the air and after the sweltering heat it is very welcome.  There is a whole lot of loveliness hitting Lili of the Valley including this sweet little tree from the Easter Cuties stamp set.  Its no secret I am always drawn to bunnies and this set has 3 very cute bunny stamps.

This is a single layer card.  The image and sentiment are stamped onto white card and the image is coloured in pencil.  The white panel is backed with yellow card stock leaving a small strip down either side before being popped up on foam.  It was then placed onto a piece of yellow gingham paper and adhered to the card base.

Such a cute image and lovely to colour.

Pop back over the next few days as I have a couple
more new stamps to show you.

Here comes Happy Purr-thday!!

I really have enjoyed guesting for Patricia from Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez this month.  Her images are really a delight to work with.  It's been a real privilege and I hope Patricia will have me back some time.

The card I am sharing today features two out of the three cats in the set called simply "Cat".
I wanted to use all three but I printed them a little big to fit without being squeezed in.  I coloured them up in pencil then fussy cut them out,  For the card base I started by stencilling a brick wall in purple distress ink, not sure why purple, but it works.  I then cut a piece of wood grain card stock on an angle to become the floor.

I had this perfect Happy Purr-Today sentiment from another stamp set that I stamped onto a banner, then added a little twine behind it to make it look like the ginger cat was pulling it.  I placed the grey cat behind so he looks like he is watching.  Finished off with some purple enamel dots to justify having a purple wall.

I hope you have enjoyed the cards I have made as Patricia's
February guest designer.
I sure have enjoyed making and sharing them.

Hippy girl.

Today I am back to share another card using a "cool" image from Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez. This is my second card as guest designer for Patricia.  I'm super excited for this opportunity to showcase some of her lovely images.

As I said I used a "cool" image for todays card.  She is called Hippie Girl Dancing.  It's a really fun image, reminds me a little of that famous Saturday Night Fever, John Travolta pose.  Anyway I coloured her outfit in lime green and then added the red flowers over the top.  The great thing about an outfit like this is you can add your own fabric pattern, stripes, polka dots or bright flowers like I did.  She is coloured in pencil and I added a little ground for her to stand on.

As with my previous Kinda Cute card the design is simple.  I added a small strip of lime green card stock and a small floral behind.  I then stamped the sentiments "smile", "love', "dream" and popped them up on foam tape and placed them down the side.  They just seemed like the right words to go with this lovely girl.

If you haven't already make sure you take a look in Patricia's shop
where you will find this and many more wonderful images.

See you on the 22nd for another card.

Animal Antics at Southern Girls

Its time for a new challenge at Southern Girls and the theme is Animal Antics.  As usual we have some lovely sponsors including Colour of Love, formally Lacey Sunshine.  I have used Rory Apple Blossom for my card.  Such a lovely image and great to colour.  So I then realised that I really didn't have the theme covered so I fussy cut and added some butterflies, could be stretching the animal thing a little but hey butterflies are animals....right??

I'm excited!!

I'm excited alright.  Patricia from Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez asked me to guest design for her during the month of February.  I get to colour a selection of her wonderful images and feature them on cards.  Whats not to be excited about?

For my first card I used this very cute little happy squirrel.  I do love squirrel's almost as much as I love bunnies.  They are just the two animals I am always drawn towards.  So... I coloured him up with my pencils and placed him on a little mound of grass.  I added lots of furry texture, especially to that magnificent tail.  The sentiment Hello! seemed appropriate as he looks like he's found the best acorn in the woods.

My card design is pretty simple, I used the coloured image panel in the centre with a small strip of yellow then green to match the colours in the image.  Patricia's images really don't need a lot of embellishing as they are wonderful all by themselves.

I will be back to feature another card
using another wonderful image on the 15th.

See you soon!

Bunting or Banners?

Whether its bunting or banners you have to love them and I just love the new Bunting and alphabet stamp set from Lili of the Valley.  I can see this becoming one of my most used stamp set.  It has 12 or 13 different little banners and some you can insert letters into.  So great!!

Anyway my card today features one of the new Lili the fFairy stamps and 2 of those gorgeous buntings.  I went for a pink and white theme with a touch of red.  As always she is coloured in pencil is the bunting.  The bunting is fussy cut and popped up on small pieces of foam, almost like she is underneath them.  I really couldn't decide on a sentiment or where to put it so decided to leave it off the front.  In the end I decided the sentiment can easily go inside the card.

Im going to pop her in the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #462
which so happened to be Pink and White.

You are awesome lady!!

I have coveted the leading lady stamps from Ellen Hudson since I very first saw them. Brandi Kincaid is the artist and I think she just has the best style and the cutest name which so suits her.  Its taken a while but finally I have couple, well three to be exact.  Now I really would like to add the first leading man to the collection.  Oh well good things take time.

Anyway I finally stamped one of the ladies and coloured her.  My daughter starts her first year of University soon so I thought this would be a nice card to leave under her door the night before her first day to remind her how awesome she is and will be.

She loves to wear brightly coloured striped tops and is on the look out for a yellow backpack so thats where the colours come from.  She also has lovely long brown hair.  I coloured her up in pencil and fussy cut the backpack and popped it up on foam.

I decided to enter this in the timeout challenge @127 which is inspired by words.  These are the words and I think "You are Awesome" encompasses this perfectly.

Heres my card.

January with Frantic Stamper

The January release from Frantic Stamper is full of  wonderful dies perfect for many "life" moments.  birthdays, thinking about someone, celebrations and sympathy.  Here is a selection of some of my favourites.

The first being Hollow Alphabet.  Perfect for quick and easy cards.  So many options on using this set, cut as I have or just the inside or the outline by itself.  It also allows the option to have the outline in one colour and the inside in another.  So versatile and a great size too.

I simply die cut letters in different colours and adhered them to a woodgrain paper.  Ideal for masculine cards.

This card features the thinking of you die, which also has a matching stamp set, and the Magnificent Monarch die.  Both dies are so lovely and great essentials to have in you stash.  The monarch I cut in black and orange and then pieced the orange inside the black.  A little time consuming but well worth the effort.

My last card uses the Giant layered Happy die, also has a matching stamp set, and the Dainty Tulip die.  Again perfect for quick and easy cards.  The tulip was die cut 5 times in green the I used scraps to die cut the flower heads, trimmed them and adhered over the top of the green ones.  I then used the inside of the happy die to create my sentiment.

These and more are available in store now,
