Under the Sea

The new release from Frantic Stamper is called Vacation at the Beach.  Whilst this card doesn't use any of the dies in this release its a timely reminder of all the other wonderful beach and ocean themed dies in the Frantic Stamper collection. 

For this card I used the Stitched Circle die to create my port hole and the Stitched Fishtail Banner die for my banner.  The ocean creatures you see through the port hole are Sea Creature Icons. 

Pair these up with the new dies for some amazing creations.

Beach Day

How true is this.  Sometimes you just need a Beach Day.  I can so relate to this.  I read somewhere where being at the beach is so good for you on many levels.    To mention a few.  The colour of the water is very calming.  Walking barefoot on the sand gives a sense of freedom.  Salt water is healing for the skin.  The sound of waves is therapeutic and relaxing.  So yes sometimes you just need a Beach day or maybe two or three.

Todays card features two new dies from the Frantic Stamper Inc Vacation at the Beach release.  Beach Umbrella and Chair, how cool is this die and the Wave Edger, which I have used to create gentle rolling waves (you an use the other piece the die cuts to create sharper waves). My sentiment is computer generated and I added some inking under the chair to represent sand.

Feeling Grateful

I have  a pretty, yet simple card to share with you today using Kennedy Grace Creations products.

I stamped the sentiment on my card stock before cutting the stitched curve.  I picked up the wrong        brown stamp pad but didn't notice till I stamped my sentiment.  As I turned to put it in the bin I decided actually I quite liked that slight fuzzy look so decided to work with it.  The sentiment is from the You Inspire Me stamp set.

The little rose stamp is from the Vintage Tea Set stamp set.  I stamped then fussy cut them, some with leaves and some without so they fitted along my curve evenly.  The vintage style paper with roses seemed a perfect match, but I cut another pink curve to add some contrast and to lift the blue from the white.  Final touch a few Kennedy Grace sequins.

Life is sweet.

A few days back I posted a card using the newly released Flip Flop die from Frantic Stamper Inc.  Today I have another version using the same die and another die from this release called Life is Good.  It contains the words Life, live, is, a, good, sweet.  I cut several sets in different colours and used them to make my background to pop the flip flops on.  This is a great way to not only use word dies but to create your own background paper.It  makes these dies so versatile.

Life is better in Flip Flops

I  couldn't agree more....Life is better in Flips Flops.  

I love to be at the beach and I associate flip flops, or jandels as we call them here, with being at the beach. Vacation at the Beach is the newest release from Frantic Stamper Inc.  This is a brilliant summer release with everything from flip flops to seagulls.  The die I have featured in this card is the Flip Flops die.  It comes with several different little accessories to decorate your flip flops.   My sentiment is computer generated and I used the Stitched Scene Builder die to cut my wavy background to represent the sand.  I will be sharing more from this release over the coming days, so do pop back. There are some wonderful dies to showcase.

Beautiful Blooms - Hydrangeas

Kennedy Grace Creations recently released the stamp set Beautiful Blooms Hydrangea.  I always think of Hydrangeas as blue or purple but they actually come in a range of pinks or whites too.  Apparently its all to do with the soil type as to the colour they will be....who knew.

My Hydrangeas are coloured using Derwent coloursoft pencil.  I kept my design fairly simple to keep the flower as my focus, which s pretty easy given how lovely this bloom is. Its fussy cut and popped up on foam with a simple gold foil "thanks" sentiment.

I had some photography issues this afternoon. I always use the same spot at around 3:30 but I think the sun must be a little lower in the sky at the moment as the shadows are not very cooperative.  Not that I am complaining about the sun because I'm not.  I also think I need a new blade in my cutter, not sure why you never notice this until posting a photo.

Typed Love Notes

It took me a little while to come up with this idea.  I knew I wanted to make a pretty card to show off the Frantic Stamper Inc typewriter.  I die cut the typewriter in brown and pushed out all the keys.  I placed double sided tape on the back and cut another in white then placed it on top of the brown one and carefully using a pin pushed the white keys out onto the double sided tape below.  I know I could have just used white card underneath but I wanted the keys to look like they were sitting above the base which I think I achieved doing it this way.  I then cut a small piece of white card and carefully cut along the back of the typewriter so the paper looked like it was in the roller.

I chose some patterned paper with a retro feel and with a bit of red so I could accent it with the heart and XO from the Valentine Confetti die.  I also used my absolute favourite Scalloped Border Trio die to cut the lacy edge.  Add a contrasting brown bow and there you have a pretty card that shows off the typewriter beautifully.

The Kids are alright at Southern Girls

Frantic Stamper Retro TV

Frantic Stamper Inc post today.

Remember when you used to get these coloured lines on the TV screen?  Yep I do.  I don't think you get them any more now programmes are broadcast 24/7.  Here in NZ when I was a child Television finished pretty early.  The last thing we saw was called goodnight kiwi.   The kiwi, who is the TV director yawns and wakes up the cat.  They walk through the studio. He turns off the power and puts out the milk bottle then climbs the stairs to the satelite dish, gets into bed with the cat and goes to sleep.   It was then the coloured lines would appear until the broadcast started the next day.  Its funny that this was what I thought off when I saw this little die and was what I used as my inspiration.

One of the things I love about Frantic Stamper dies, is the ability to cut multiple times to add lots of detail.  Each TV is cut at least 3 times to get the frame, screen and dials in different colours.  I chose my background paper first in lovely retro colours and matched my TV's.   I used the Stitched Scene Builder Edgers to cut the wavy edge before stamping a simple sentiment.

This is such a fun release that provoked some great memories.

Frantic Stamper Retro Alarm Clock

How many times do you find yourself saying just that, "its time we caught up".  I know I say this way more than I should.  When I saw this little alarm clock from the Frantic Stamper Inc, Retro Cool release that was the first thing that sprang to mind, so I couldn't resist making a card that captured that sentiment.  

These little alarm clocks are so cute and very cool.  The face of the card and hands cut separately so it was easy to mix and match the outer colours and hands.  This was a pretty quick and simple card to make.  I matched the clocks to the patterned paper  then added a pink and orange one to brighten it up.  A couple of the clocks are glued flat and a couple are popped up for dimension.   A few matching sequins add that finishing touch.  

The small alarm clock is a fun die to play with and will make a great little embellishment on many projects.

Retro Daisies

The Retro Cool release from Frantic Stamper Inc,  is just that....very cool.  I had fun choosing retro papers and colours to compliment the Retro Daisies die.  It comes in 4 different sizes that can be used individually like I have in the above card or they can stack together to make a dimensional flower.  

For the panel I placed the different sized and patterned flowers onto a piece of white card stock then trimmed it down to size.  I added enamel dots to the centres for some dimension and a simple sentiment to finish it off.  I can see this die being used over and over again, in any colour and combination.

Kennedy Grace Sweet Rose Take 2

A day or so ago I featured the new stamp set from Kennedy Grace Creations called Beautiful Blooms - Sweet Rose.  Today I would like to share another card using the same stamp.  

This time I fussy cut the bit bloom after colouring it in pinks and reds.  I used it as a single feature against the black and white striped paper and added a paper bow and scalloped edges.  The rose is much more dramatic on this card.  I love how easy it is to change the look of it.  The sequins I usesd are  one of the new mixes Mocha, Vanilla Latte mix, lovely creams and browns.

Frantic Stamper Awesome Eagle

Today is a Frantic Stamper post.  This card uses dies from the recent Independence Day release.  We don't celebrate the 4th of July here but I decided to go red white and blue with this card for my American Friends.   

I coloured a piece of white card and blended it before cutting out the sentiment.  The eagle comes with a branch but I decided to sit him on the sentiment.  I die cut him several times and coloured the different cuts to enable layering.  Trying to make him more realistic and adding dimension.   I then cut three stitched stars to add to the background before finishing up with a red backing card and a few sequins.
