Easter is coming to my Little House

Its a very dull overcast saturday morning.  The air is a bit cooler and the heat seems to be dissappearing from the watery sun that is out today.  I have apple cinnamon muffins cooking in the oven one teenager still in bed and the other has been up and out since 7am representing the school in mountain biking.
Last night they went to a paint party at the local ice skating rink and had a fantastic time came home covered in uv paint Nick from head to toe and Abbey more a subtle work of art....ahhh the difference between boys and girls.  Actually wait a mo and I will go take a photo of nicks t-shirt to give you an idea........

There you are now imagine the rest of him matching the t-shirt and you have a picture of what he looked like.

Anyway the last couple of weeks I have been working on this little house with the idea that I will embellish it to suit the season and the celebration.  What inspired me was a little display that someone had put together for halloween and since then I thought I would like to have something that I could have out on display to change for Easter, birthdays, Halloween, Christmas etc. When I found this house I knew I had what I wanted. I covered it in paper and inked it adding glitter and put it together. I wanted the base of it to remain fairly neutral so as I changed the embellishments it would still work.

For Easter I added some lovely flowers Prima and Melissa Frances (oh the house is Melissa Frances too) popped an Easter Basket on the front step with little easter egg cutouts on the path, banners on the fence and a little bunny running away after making his delivery.  I have a little battery operated tea light candle inside that can be turned on at night.

There you have it "Happy Easter" version of my little house.

The Shabby Tea Room is Anything Goes this week so thought I might pop this into their challenge and goodness me there are a lot of entries this week.  Glad I am not judging.

Easter Tin

Hi and thanks for stopping by.

I have had this tin sitting on a shelf by my desk for a while now and the other day I was inspired to do something with it.  With Easter not so far away I opted for that as my theme.  I was going to fill it with mini eggs but decided to make a little poem keepsake as well.  I started by painting the tin and then spritzed it with a gold spritz and then covered it in Mod Podge to try and give it an aged kind of old brassy look.  Gold Spritz over brown paint worked quite well.  The little die cut is from Pretty Little Studio.

Inside I made a simple folded booklet and added some Easter poems and embellishments.  There is still room for some little treats as well.

A bit sad really as this will be the last time to enter into Make It Monday Challenge as they are having their last Monday Challenge for a while or maybe ever.  Shame really and maybe after a well deserved rest the blog may become active again....never say never hey?

Magiczna Kartka - Magic Card Candy

Magiczna Kartka are giving away another lot of the most beautiful papers.  Ahhhhh.....sigh....they are so lovely, very pretty and how I would love to create with them.  I have said before we just don't get papers like these and what a shame that is.

Old Post...

This was a post from a couple of weeks back that for some reason blogger would not allow me to post.  I made this card for the Shabby Tea Rooms challenge but as I couldn't post it it didn't get entered!!!!  I am still going to enter it int the Southern Girls Challenge, swinging in the breeze,  banners and penants. Anyway the card from 2 posts ago was chosen for an houourable mention from the Shabby Tea Room and also as a winner in the Card Concepts challenge..... I know its old news now but I still was pretty chuffed just couldn't brag about it at the time.

Well the first of March arrived and I swear someone somewhere flicked a switch and summer turned into Autumn.  The days are cooler and shorter,  the sky seems lower and the leaves are turning colour. Its amazing how quickly it has changed.  I have even had to wear a light jacket this week.  Do in reverse I hope that means that on the other side of the world the Spring switch was also turned on.

Here is the card I mentioned I paper peiced the background with strips left over from cutting,  Graphic 45.  I stamped the little puppy onto craft paper and inked him for contrast.   Restamped the image and cut out his little teddy.
