Little birdhouses

Last week we were at the beach, I did lots of reading and lots of long walks on the sand. I came to the conclusion yet again that I would like to live where I can see the sea. I am not a swimmer and nor do I have very good sea-legs but I do love the sea.

The kids are at an age where they pretty much have total freedom now.  They can go to the beach on their own and find crabs in the rocks fish off the bridge and walk to the dairy for an ice cream.  I still won't let them swim in the ocean by themselves but this year they kayaked in the estuary unsupervised.

Anyway yesterday I sorted by craft area after a year of not putting things away properly in was time for a sort and a little bit of a treasure hunt, finding things I had forgotten about.  Once done I made this card for the Card Concept.  Part of the challenge is to fit into a style.  This is something I have never quite figured out I know what I like but I don't quite know where I fit, I think I fit somewhere in Shabby/Elegant. You had to use texture in the card.

Gettin back into it....

I have had a bit of a lull from creating due to going away, christmas and no computer.  I started to feel like something was really missing so getting back into it although a little slow to start, it was great to sit in my space and familiarise myself with my things again....

I made this card  the other day just using bits and pieces of scraps that have been sitting about.  I am entering this into the colour challenge at The Card Concept and the sketch challenge atThe Shabby Tea Room.

As I still have no computer I am using one of the kids chromebooks and I have to say uploading this  has been a little challenging this morning but now I have done it once I think I shall be ok... I had to use my phone for the photos as I couldnd't get them to download for the camera...so the colour is not as sharp as it should be...I didn't want to sepnd too much time trying to figure it all out as once I get onto sorting out what to do with my computer (I think it needs replacing) I will have to relearn it all.  Its one of those things I need to get onto to but keep putting off.

Clean and Simple

As you know this is a style that I always struggle with but I always admire.  Tiddly Inks challenge is just that, clean and simple.  Well I love little Wryn from Tiddly Inks and I had this chalk paper that has been sitting around for a bit so I put the two together added the little bird and a mat and this is what was created......
