The kids are at an age where they pretty much have total freedom now. They can go to the beach on their own and find crabs in the rocks fish off the bridge and walk to the dairy for an ice cream. I still won't let them swim in the ocean by themselves but this year they kayaked in the estuary unsupervised.
Anyway yesterday I sorted by craft area after a year of not putting things away properly in was time for a sort and a little bit of a treasure hunt, finding things I had forgotten about. Once done I made this card for the Card Concept. Part of the challenge is to fit into a style. This is something I have never quite figured out I know what I like but I don't quite know where I fit, I think I fit somewhere in Shabby/Elegant. You had to use texture in the card.

sparkle & shine *~*
Very pretty. Shabbby/elegant, vintage and whimsical all fit you.
Glad to hear that you all had a great time at the beach! There's something a little bit sad and a bit liberating about the kids growing older, don't you think? I always thought of your cards as "classy," but I think "Shabby/Elegant" is a better description. Your latest sure fits that bill -- it's beautiful.
That's a very pretty card Karen :) good job
I think several of the "style's" overlap each other...I am leaning toward Class and Elegant on this one because of the shiny, classy bow and the little trinket, rose and pearls. Either way...just a beautiful card!
This is such a pretty card. I love all the little added details. Thanks for playing along with us this week at The Card Concept.
...ah, the sea...the smell of the salt air and the gulls...would be so much better than -40C here in Manitoba, Canada!
Love your card! I would also class it as fabulous shabby/elegant! Beautiful subtle colors that play the perfect supporting role to the pops of red (or deep pink ?). A perfectly balanced design with tons of yummy texture....love the embossed background AND love the wee little teddy bear charm!
Thank you for inviting us in for a visit and for choosing to share your card with us this week at the Card Concept Challenge!
