Magiczna Kartka

No I haven't gone crazy this is polish for Magic Card.....
To explain..... I follow Aneta from Artisant.  She makes the kind of cards I would like to make. She is really amazing.  I have come to believe that European paper designers are amongst the most beautiful in the world and boy do I wish we could get them down under.  But as we can't I love to look and wish........sigh........ Anyway from Aneta's blog I discovered yet another paper company that further supports my claim and they are giving away some sweet candy. You really must check this out I have fingers and toes crossed.

Quilt of hearts

February is of course the month of romance.  No matter where you go on the net at the moment it is pink, red, hearts or anything that represents "love".
For this card I recreated the background using scraps. Most are from the Kaisercraft Tea Time range.  I cut them into squares and then glued them together to form a quilt.  I added hand drawn stitching but could have left it as it was but I wanted to accentuate the "quilt" affect.  I then added some punched hearts and a diecut heart that i edged in lace.  Added some ink and flowers and of course some bling and glitter.

This week the challenge at The Card Concept is Monochromatic Pink. They ask that you comment on your style which I find  little hard to do, but yet again I think it kind of fits it the Shabby/Elegant category.
Over at The Shabby Tea Room the challenge is pink/red/burgundy flowers,  hearts and glitter.

Completely off track I love the song called Happy from the movie Despicable Me which is sung by Pharrell Williams.  It just happens to be on the music channel at the moment.  Its such a great tune a real toe tapper.  It always makes me feel ....well......happy. :-)

Playing with lace

Its back to school for me tomorrow.  I enjoy my job but I also like to be at home.  Alas one needs the money. Can't have it all I guess.

Anyway I have been playing with inlaying lace instead of just adding it as a strip.  I think this has potential, it adds dimension and texture and of course is something a little different. I first cut the oval from the card and glued the lace to the back before gluing it down.  I left some of the background card showing through the lace and then cut a frame to add some more of the background paper and to also try and frame the lace.  The paper is from the Kaisercraft Tea Time range.

This little creation I am popping into the The Shabby Tea Room week #203 Warm and Cosy Challenge and The Crafters Cafe  Challenge #48 Ribbon/Lace.  Oh My goodness I just saw that The Shabby Tea Room are having a DT call........
