Quiet Space

Following on from yesterdays post this card is another lesson from the My Favourite Things Summer School.  This is Lesson #5 Balance - Quiet Space/White Space.  Yeah sorry I am a bit out of order but some of my homework just went together better than others.

I used a couple of other techniques learnt from the Summer School.  The rule of thirds when placing my bubbles, which are inked in MFT Hybrid Ink using a stencil.  The same rule applies to  placing my little fish. I also believe I have created a focal point.   The little fish is coloured in Derwent Coloursoft pencils highlighted with a white gel pen, as are the bubbles.  I was going to add a sentiment but I was afraid it might wake up my quiet space.

Hi Karen, wanted to thank you so much for your lovely comments on my blog, your very sweet. And then I came across this card....its brilliant!! The bubbles look so real, do you have any Glossy Accents on them or anything like that?? If not the highlighting is superb. I've never tried highlighting as I'm never too sure of where I should be doing it. Did you use the white pen on your fish as well?? Looks gorgeous and those colours are stunning. Just about to start making dinner, haven't even worked out what to make yet. Extremely cold today but at least there was a little bit of sun about. Hope your not freezing to death in the North!!

Hey thanks Shona. I chose not to put glossy accents on the bubbles but I did think about it ended up deciding on the sequins for a little shine. All the highlighting is done with a White Gel Pen. I too have always been a bit hesitant with highlighting as always thought I would do it in the wrong place until I watched a video on The Daily Marker http://www.thedailymarker.com and Kathy said don't worry about it and put them wherever you think. I felt I then had the freedom to do want I thought. Off to cook dinner also and yes it freezing up here but what a gorgeous day/evening. Stay warm!!
