Welcome!

I have started this blog for two reasons.  One: because those who know me know that I am hopeless when it comes to keeping in touch, so this will enable you to visit as often as you like to see what is going on, provided of course I am any good at keeping it updated. Two: I have started entering some of my cards into challenges and this provides a forum to show them off.  Actually there are three reasons I am resisiting Facebook, so this brings me into the 21st century without having to go onto it.

To start here are some photos of our recent holiday up North to celebrate the kids 10th birthday.

Kerikeri Stone Store and the Kemp Mission House built by the missionaries between 1832 -36.  The Stone store is the oldest remaining Stone building in New Zealand.  Until the 1970's the mission house was inhabited by two sisters decending from the Kemps, they lived as the missionaries would have and when they became elderly gave the house to the people of New Zealand.

The lighthouse at Cape Reinga, the furthermost point of New Zeland.  Here you see where the two seas meet. The moari believe their spirits leave this world for another at this point.

                                                                    A giant Kauri tree.

The scenery.

The little church where you can find the gravestones of the first missionaries in the area.

                                                       Again the beautiful scenery.
