Pretty Cardinal

Modern Cardinal is a new die from Frantic Stamper.  The set contains 2 sizes.  I have used the smaller of the 2 on my card.  You could easily turn it into birds other than a cardinal by using different colours.

I have perched the cardinal on the Ornamental Swag die from Christmas 2016 and used the very pretty bracket edger and inserts die to edge my white card.  Finished off with some beads and sequins.

We don't get cardinals in NZ,  our birds are the colours of the forest, mainly  shades of brown, black and green.

Kennedy Grace Blog Hop

Its late evening here but welcome to Kennedy Grace Creations September Blog Hop!
You should have arrived from the wonderful Marina

This evening I'm sharing a card I created for the hop using the Stamp set called Kindness Medley and Chantilly Cream sequin mix, both are totally gorgeous.

I stamped my image and coloured it in pencil. Then die cut it into a heart shape popping it up on foam. A larger heart was put behind to bring the central heart off the white background. The large kindness was stamped using a similar toned ink and with a little masking I added one of the smaller sentiments.  Finishing touch is a few sequins.

We are giving away a great prize during the hop so make sure you leave comments along the way.  The more you comment the more chances you have to win!
Winner will be announced Monday October 2nd

Our newest release of stamp and sequins is also now available for purchase in the STORE!

We hope you have enjoyed this release and will hop along to see what the other Kennedy Grace designers have made using stamps and sequins from the September release. If you want to see the full line up head back over to the Kennedy Grace blog here.

Stamped Gingham

Its no secret I love Gingham so its pretty obvious that I would love this background stamp from Frantic Stamper.  Its a deep etched red rubber stamp 6 x 6 inches in size.  Its just perfect for making your own background paper as I have done on this card.

I also used the new die called Star on a String.  I cut it out three times from my background then again from red card stock to frame the stars against the silver glitter paper I placed behind.  Although I have used red and white you could used this star for any occasion.  This could easily be used as a birthday card.

I finished it off with some sparkly sequins.

Noel by Frantic Stamper

The September release is the first Frantic Stamper release for Christmas 2017.

The Card I am sharing today features the Layering Noel Die.  It consists of 2 dies that enable you to create 3 layers to use separately or stacked.    My design is pretty simple but I'd like to note here that the gingham paper is hand stamped using the new background stamp called simply,  Gingham.   I'll show a card using this stamp in a couple of days but I have to say its brilliant,  especially if you're like me and have a thing about gingham.  The berry sprigs and cardinal are from the die set Wreath and Swag Builder from 2016.

Southern Girls gets all interactive!

It's time for a new challenge at Southern Girls and we are going all interactive.  Shakers, sliders, movers, pop ups, any sort of interactive project.  Maybe its time to give something new a go.

The card I am sharing today has a pull out sentiment.  It slides in and out behind the patterned paper. I've used a cute little Neat and Tangled stamp set called Better Together with ribbon and flower from our sponsor Wild Orchid Crafts.

And here it is with the sentiment pulled out.

Look forward to seeing your creations in the challenge.

See you back soon

Witches Gear

I'm sharing a fun all over card today using the Witches Gear die set from Frantic Stamper.  This die is from the August release and it contains a little Witches hat and broomstick.  I thought it would be fun to use different colours although I know witches hats are traditionally black.

I die cut both pieces multiple times in various colours (great way to use scraps) and also again using black to get the buckle.  I mixed and matched the hat and broom over a piece of white card stock.  Then added the happy Halloween sentiment and some black acrylic dots to add some dimension and fill in some spaces.  Simply backed with a small edge of black.

Little dies are great for creating your own background papers.

For You

I'm on the Kennedy Grace Blog today using the classic Sunflower stamp set.  This is totally not what I envisaged when I started out but sometimes projects take on a life of their own.

I started by stamping my images in an orange toned ink and coloured it using pencil.  I was going to fussy cut it out and I had some background paper in mind but I couldn't lay my hands on it so decided to use a stamped background instead.  I masked off my flower thinking I could still cut it out if needed.  I used a stamp with a language I think could possibly be latin and stamped it several times in brown ink.  So now its taking on a vintage look so to  I used distress ink to add some more depth and add to the vintage feel of the card.

I decided that the image needed to be on the edge so cut my card down.  Added some hessian twine and a small tag before backing on brown cardstock.

Hope to see you back soon
