Three little monkeys.

Three little monkeys swinging through the trees to say be happy.  This little fellow is from the new Jungle digi set from Lili of the Valley.  It can be found under the Simply Sweet Tab in the etsy shop. I copied and pasted it three times.  Each one is then coloured in pencil and then fussy cut.

I used a semicircle die to cut a window in a piece of white card stock.  The leaves are die cut using the tropical leaves die set from Frantic Stamper.   They are arranged in the circle before I placed the monkeys in different positions to create my little scene.

The sentiment is a new rubber stamp set called  Love and Wishes circular sentiment set.  These are so pretty and I thought Be Happy was perfect for these cheeky fellows. I chose to stamp in black onto white card stock and then coloured the leaves and flowers before popping it up on foam.

To assemble the card I cut a piece of green card stock to form the background of my window and the edge of the card.  This is popped up on foam tape before being stuck in place to add dimension.  I positioned and adhered the sentiment circle before adding the final touch with 3 enamel dots.

I'll be back shortly with details of a giveaway

Beach Days!!!

Its summer here in New Zealand so yes Beach Days are here.

There is a new challenge over at Southern Girls, the first for 2019 and its a favourite Anything Goes challenge.  We have wonderful sponsors again in 2019 including Neat & Tangled who are sponsoring this challenge.

All the details are over on the blog so go check it out and enter your creation.

For my card I created this little beach scene using the Breach Day stamp set from Neat & Tangled.  I used stencils and distress oxides to create my simple background.  I stamped and coloured then fussy cut the images I was going to use and played around with placement until  I was happy with my little scene.  This is a great summer stamp set and always fun to use.

See you at Southern Girls.

Birthday Monsters!!!

I had some fun with this card.  The Birthday Monsters are from Lili of the Valley and can be found as digis under the Simply Stamp banner.  I have paired this little guy with the new Bunting Stamp set released in rubber with Lili the Fairy.  This is a great set if like me you are a sucker for bunting/banners.

I stamped the bunting onto white card stock and then again onto patterned paper, I then cut out the letters and glued them over the top of the stamped banner.  I did leave some of the letters white.  This is a great way to colour the letters without actually colouring them.

I then printed and coloured the little bat monster, the beauty with digis is you can resize them to suit and as I wanted the bunting to feature I kept him relatively small.  Once coloured I fussy cut them and popped them up on foam.

This was a fun card to make.  I think this bunting set will become very well used.

Hello!!

Hello and welcome to 2019.

I wonder what it has in store for us over the next 12 months.  Some things I'm already aware of but there are others that I am sure will take me by surprise, hopefully pleasantly but a year wouldn't be a year without a curve ball or two thrown in for good measure.

I'm starting the year with a little Stacy Yacula from Purple Onion Designs.  It seems like a really good place to start. These adorable farm animals are from the Mistletoe Farm Collection.  It's so hard to choose a favourite collection but these farm animals in their little hats and scarves are pretty hard to resist.

I coloured several stamped images in pencil and fussy cut them with no idea how they would be put together.  In my order was this beautiful floral banner (which honestly I don't remember putting in my cart, but I'm glad I did).

I started by stamping the floral banner partially around the edge of some white card stock, then created a little scene with some of the animals I had pre-coloured and cut.  I just like the subtle backgrounds against the images for these stamps.  It seems to be my go too style for them. The calf and the hen are glued to the card stock with their heads popped up on foam tape, so they don't sit completely flat.  The goose and the sleeping kitty are adhered with foam tape as they are in the foreground.

Stacy always gives her animals the most beautiful facial expressions.

See you again soon.

Happy 2019.

Happiness!!

Happiness. peace and joy, that's what I wish for everyone during 2019.  I know for many 2018 has had its stresses and trials and losses as well as triumphs and happy times.  I've like most had a mixed bag of everything.

As 2018 draws to a close and we welcome 2019 I'd like to share this card featuring products from the Frantic Stamper December release.  This is the happiness kanji.  Die cut in rose gold metallic card and placed over a gorgeous watercolour printed design paper from Piatek (available at Frantic Stamper).  It is then edged with a Die cut from the Chinese Geometric edger.

I really hope for as much happiness, peace and joy as you can handle in a single year.

Happy New Year.

Birthday Tweetings.

Well what else would it be but Birthday Tweetings from this colourful tropical toucan?

This is another of the recent additions to the Simply Sweet Banner of Lili of the Valley. This is some of the digis from the Jungle set.  There is a lion a monkey a cute little hippo and a very sweet rhino.  My card features the toucan and the tropical leaves.  This link will take you to where all the information is to find these cuties.

I printed 2 sets of the leaves one set slightly smaller than the other, coloured and fussy cut them.  The Toucan is also fussy cut and popped up of foam tape so he's sitting on the leaves.  I them inked lightly in the background with distress inks before adding a sentiment and a a scalloped edge down one side. Simply Sweet images really don't need a lot of adorning.

I'll be back tomorrow with something a little less cute.

Till then !!

Monster Smiles!!!

Who doesn't love monster smiles from a trio of very cute monsters?

These are new to LOTV under the Simply Sweet Banner.  They are called Monsters, obviously.  There are six in the set, so these three and three more.  As they are digis I was able to manipulate them to form this little group.  I coloured them in pencil and added some coloured card stock in two layers and some twine, tied in knots with an enamel dot in the centre.  Very simple but pretty cute for monsters I'd say.

There are lots of new rubber stamps in the LOTV shop and lots of new digis in the etsy store.  This link will take you to all the information you need.

See you again tomorrow with a birthday tweeting.
