Been a little while...

Yes it has been a while...sometimes life gets in the way of crafting. Sad but true. Christmas has been and gone.  The year of 2018 is almost done and dusted.  Who knows what 2019 will bring but I hope its peace, happiness and joy for everyone.

Anyway I have been busy catching up on DT work, making cards and posting where I need too.  Feels good to be catching up and maybe even getting a little bit ahead of the game.

I have neglected Lili of the Valley.  There have been several new releases, some in rubber and some in digi in the new etsy store.  If you visit this link you will find everything you need to know.  Oh and if you hurry there is a 50% off Boxing Day sale.

This card features the new Foxes under the Simply Sweet Stamps banner.  They really are simply sweet.  I used two of the images and fussy cut them to create this little skulk of foxes.  They are coloured in pencil with a very simple card design to set them off.  They really do look like they are dreaming.

Have a Bright and Sunny Day

Have a bright and sunny day.  I realise that some of you are experiencing cold snowy weather but I still hope your day is bright and sunny in other ways.

There is a new challenge at Southern Girls and it's a favourite, "anything goes".  Easy peasy just whatever you happen to be working on at the moment meets the criteria.  Pop to the blog and join us.

My card uses the cute, happy little beach bunnies stamp set from My Favourite Things, available right here in NZ from Krafters Cart.  Its a simple little card using the little beach houses in the background.  I simply used distress inks to ink the sand then placed the beach houses on top.  The little bunny eating her ice cream is popped up on foam tape and placed in the fore ground.

Something old and something new.

Today I am sharing a card using something old and something new.  So often I tend to forget my older dies when using new ones but these older dies were such a great mix with he new stencil from Frantic Stamper.

I used Distress Oxides over pale pink card stock to create the lovely soft background.  Scribble Roses die is an older die but its so perfect with the stencil.  I cut it twice  in green card stock, then twice more in pink leaving cutouts intact.  I carefully cut the leaves away from the pink card and glued these onto of the leaves.  For my flower centres I used the cutouts from the new cascading Hearts die,  Another of the new dies is called Ruffled Heart Frame die, it comes with the extra Love die which I used on this card.

I used white card stock with an edge of green to lift the flowers off the background and to give some contrast.

I've been playing with my Stacey Yacula Stamps again.  They have to be some of my favourite stamps, available from Purple Onion Designs.  Not only are they cute but they are a delight to colour.

My card today features the word thanks made with the Brooklyn alphabet from Frantic Stampers.  Its a great sized letter, tall and thin which enables you to make nice big words with several letters.  I simply grabbed 6 colours that work together (scraps) and cut the individual letters.  They are cut 3 times, once in colour and twice in white to stack and add a little dimension.

The little Stacey stamps are just prefect to add that extra cuteness.  I love how you can mix and match them and create little scenes.

Be brave & beautiful!!

I really like this young lady from Lili of the Valley.  She's one of the recent rubber stamp releases.  The sentiment Be Brave & Beautiful goes so well with her.  She part of a set called So Lovely and comes with 3 other lovely girls

I went for a suede and maroon colour scheme just for something a bit different.  She's coloured in pencil.  Nothing unusual there!!  I have actually coloured this image several times now and I always really enjoy her.  She reminds me a little of my daughter so maybe that's why. The background is simply stencilled using a brown ink, nothing to fancy but enough to give a little interest to the background and set her off.

The image is backed with a matching maroon and brown card stock which I decided to only show around three of the sides, just for a change.

Jump for Joy!!

Jump for joy and wish upon a star.  Thats exactly what this wee mouse from Stacey Yacula and Purple Onion Designs is doing.  I do love these little critters.  This cutie was one of the first Stacey Yacula stamps I ever bought and its still a delight to stamp and colour.

I used a star die from Frantic Stamper to cut out the big star and two smaller stars.  The large star is cuter of the card back with some very lovely glittery cardstock in behind.  The bigger of the other two stars was adhered onto the card and the smallest one popped up on foam tape.

I simply added the little mouse on foam tape and stamped the sentiment in a matching colour. He looks really excited so I tried to make it look like he was jumping.   Looking at it now I do think I maybe should have dropped the sentiment down a little but "oh well".  You often don't notice these things till you see the photograph.

 I'm popping this into  AAA card challenge #128 - on the move.

Their challenges are Clean and Simple and  They have obviously been around a while but 

I have just discovered them.

Once upon a time....

Once upon a time in a far away land, there lived a beautiful princess and a handsome prince.....

Today I would like to share a fun card made using dies from the November Frantic Stamper release. It uses the castle building kit, which contains all the pieces to build castles in any form you wish. I added the Fairytale Princess and the Fairytale Prince to my little scene. By turning the princess dress overlay upside down, I was able to create wings for a fairy godmother. Both the prince and Princess come with costume changes so you can personalise your creations easily.

These dies are so much fun to create with and the possibilities are endless. Just perfect for all the little people who still believe in fairytales.

Also ideal for wedding couples too.
