Jolly little fellow

Today I am sharing another of the new images from the DSB Christmas release at Lili of the Valley.  There is a whole series of these framed images, 8 in total I believe.   There is a Santa. a Snowman, one with mistletoe and several more.  All super cute.

I coloured this Jolly fellow in pencil.  I chose to give him a green outfit as he's kind of elf like.  I fussy cut around the frame and popped him pop on foam.  The design is pretty simple.  I used a similar green card stock with a strip of yellow gingham down one side with a little strip of plain yellow for a subtle contrast.  I then positioned the frame at an angle before die cutting the digital sentiment and also popping that up on foam.

I think he's pretty cute and I have the girl version of this in progress so pop back in a few days to see how she turns out.

New Digital stamps coming.....

There a re a whole lot of new digital stamps coming to Lili of the Valley designed by Digital Stamp Boutique.  They are due out 10th September and there are some super cute images and fantastic word art digis too.  So be sure to check them out.

This is Winter Rosie.  

She is coloured in pencil then fussy cut.  The actual image when you download it has snow falling all around her, obviously I lost this by choosing to cut her out. I used distress ink to create the background and then cut a piece of white card to form a little hillside before putting Rosie and her little friend in place.  I then cut another hillside to place in the foreground.

The sentiment is also from Digital Stamp Boutique,  I used an oval die to cut it out before placing a few silver snowflakes around it.

Tag!!! You're it!!!

Tag!!! You're it!!! Time for a new challenge at Southern Girls and yes you guessed it, its all about tags.  Tags of all shapes and sizes and used any way you choose.  We have two great sponsors for this challenge and Wild Orchid Crafts are one of them.  Everyone's heard of Wild Orchid Crafts ..... right??  They are suppliers of beautiful mulberry paper flowers and vintage seam binding among other crafting goodies.

On my card I have used Moss green seam binding and sweetheart flowers which come in 2 sizes.  The minis are so super cute and great little filler flowers.  I used a piece of Mintay Springtime paper in the background and cut my tags using Double Ended Nested dies from Frantic Stamper.  They are popped up with foam and the seam binding threaded through and tied into a bow.  I clustered the flowers around the side of the tag to look like an extension of the pattern on the paper.  I added a few little leaves and some enamel droplets to finish it off.

Just a little side note here:  

Wild Orchid Crafts have been sold and the new owners will be reopening Mid September.

Foxy.

This little foxy die is from the Frantic Stamper August release, Halloween and Autumn.  I just love this little die.  He's actually called Redd the Fox and is such a sweetie.  He's really easy to assemble too.  I simply cut him in white and a brownish red card stock and pieced him together.  I did add a small accent to his eyes and nose with a white gel pen and popped his head up with foam tape.

Another new die is the Thanks Line.  Its a really nice die and if you wanted to make a very simple and quick card you could so easily use this die by itself.

My card design is very simple but Redd doesn't need a lot of embellishing.   I placed him towards the centre of a piece of white card stock and adde the thanks line in black below.  Using the Petite Leaves die, which cuts 3 sizes of small leaves and blossoms from the Windowsill Garden die set I cut several of the tiniest leaves and blossoms in various colours.  I kind of just scattered them and glued them where they fell.

Sometimes a card comes together perfectly and this for me was one of those cards.

Felt patterns at LOTV.

You did read that right felt patterns are at LOTV.  A wonderful range of patterns have been recently added to the Lili of the Valley umbrella.  Patterns from Little Things to Share, Mimiboom and Precious Patterns.  There are so many to choose from and they are perfect for that little craft project to take away or to fill in time.  You really should take a little look.

The design team were challenged with using the patterns in ways other than what they were intended for.  Of course this makes these patterns super versatile and extra good value.

I used the Little Things to Share - Christmas Sweaters to make some cards and tags from card stock.  The patterns are downloadable which allows you to size them to how big or small you like.  I reduced the patterns slightly and printed them onto card to use as a template.  I traced the pieces onto scraps of various coloured card stock then popped them into a plastic bag with a pair of scissors and took them with me to cut whilst I was waiting for my daughter.

Once all the pieces were cut I picked and glued them to make the little sweaters ready to either pop onto a card or use as a tag. Extra detail was added with a fine black marker and some enamel dots.  For the tags I cut base in white card stock and attached a length of twine.

Really fun little projects!!

Stamp your mark with Southern Girls!

Time for a new challenge at Southern Girls and we want you to stamp your mark!  We want to see stamping on your creations, traditional stamp and ink or digital, either will do.  Pop on over to the blog for all the details and inspiration from the Design Team.  We have 2 great sponsors again this round.

I used a digital image from Kinda Cute by Patricia (one of our sponsors) with some stamp and ink in the background.  So easy to combine both methods in one card.  Coloured using pencil and even a little stencilling in the foreground and the sky.  I made the hive into a Christmas tree for fun.The image is called Santa Bee and although I'd like to bury my head in the sand a bit longer ... Christmas is coming!

Monsters are in store!!

Its time for a new release at Frantic Stamper and its all about Halloween and Autumn.  There is the cutest little set of monsters who are really trying to be scary but not quite carrying it off.

There are three little monsters in the set.  For my first card I used the new Big Dot Stencil with Distress oxides to create the background and die cut one of the little monsters.  I die cut his spots and eyes again using scraps so I could add a little dimension to him.  A few accents are added with white gel pen and a black fine marker.  He is popped up on foam but I glued both his hands down so they don't get caught.

The sentiment is stamped from the monster sentiment clear stamp set also part of this release.  I then cut it out using the long speech bubbles die from the May release.  It is also popped up with foam tape.

The card is backed onto a piece of matching card stock with some enamel dots as a finishing touch.

This next card features the other two monsters in the set.  Again I cut their eyes and spots from scraps  to give them some character.  This card is Halloween themed which shows the versatility of the die set.  The background is cut using the new Diagonal Striped Panel.  This is a great way to create your own design paper.  I just simply cut it dark green and backed it in a brighter green.

Using the Retro Label Maker Halloween stamp set I stamped three sentiments in different colours and cut them out popping them up on foam tape.  I then die cut a little spider from the New Treat Bag Topper, its one of the little accessories included in this set.  The whole card is then backed on black card.  Such a fun little set!!
