Bottlecap stamps and dies

Included in the Frantic Stamper Fun Food release is a fun set of stamps called bottlecap alphabet and a bottle cap die that turns them into bottlecaps.  Such a versatile set.  You can use the stamp set just as an alphabet set but its quite fun to turn the letters into bottle caps.  There are 2 other sets that can be mixed and matched.  A set of bottle cap numbers and a set of sentiments that include some bottlecap icons.

I stamped the word friend in fizzy colours and turned them into bottle caps.  I decided to make a square card and used 2 of the icons and a sentiment to fill in the 3rd line.  A quick and easy way to make a fun card using any words or even a persons name.

A useful set to have in your collection.

Magical Hugs

Today I am sharing this cute little unicorn offering up magical hugs from Simply Sweet Stamps. The set is called Unicorns, of course.   Its a digital stamp set so you can size the images and sentiments as big or as small as you like.  I printed the unicorn away from the sentiment as I wanted to fussy cut it out.

I die cut a circle from the card base with the sentiment so I could place some magical clouds in behind.  I inked the clouds using My Favourite Things stencil called Mini cloud edger.  A must have for inking sky backgrounds.  Using stamping ink pads and a blending tool I blended colourful clouds.  Once dry I added glitter along the outline of each cloud for some sparkle.

My card base is popped up on foam so the clouds sit behind the circle with a little dimension.  Once coloured I fussy cut the unicorn and popped him up on foam tape too.  Finishing touch was a few sparkly sequins.

If you like simple yet cute images be sure to check out Simply Sweet Stamps.

Fun Food at Frantic Stamper

The April release at Frantic Stamper is all about Fun Food. Tacos, pizza, ice cream sundaes, hotdogs and more.  Lots of punny stamp sets and even a set to add faces.  A cool alphabet stamp set that fits inside a bottle cap die, cupcakes and a food truck.  Great for all kind of projects.

I'm sharing a card today using the donut die. There is a matching sentiment stamp set with lots of funny little sentiments.  I made a chocolate donut with sprinkles (sprinkle die comes as part of the set).  There is another little die in the set that allow you to cut a bite from the donut which is pretty fun.  My layout is simple and using the sentiment "I donut know what I would do without you!" I turned my card into a thank you card that could so easily accompany a real chocolate donut to say thanks to someone.  Also think this die would make a fun tag.

Die Cuts for Southern Girls

Its time for a new challenge at Southern Girls and this round its Die Cuts.  Easy Peasy right???  All we want to see are die cuts on your creations.  I still use my trusty Cuttle bug for die cutting.  Its the good old green one and I bought it second hand.  I'm on my umpteenth set of B plates and my C plate has a hairline crack so thats going to need replacing for the second time.  Its reliable and. touch wood, just keeps on going.

We have 2 lovely sponsors for this challenge and I've used products on my card available from Krafters Cart here in NZ.  Stocks go fast but Meetu is very accomodating and happy to help you with any crafty needs you may have.

For all the details and for other DT inspiration pop on over to the challenge blog.

Simply Sweet Elephant Fun.

If you love elephants then you will love these little cuties from Simply Sweet Stamps.  I created a simple little scene where one of the little elephants has sat down on the spot because he let go of his balloon. I simply cut the balloon from one of the elephants and placed it above the elephant so it looks as though it is floating away.

I love how Simply Sweet Stamps are perfect for simple, cute and uncomplicated designs.  So if you like this type of cardmaking you really must check them out, actually no matter your style they are definitely worth a look.

Simply Sweet Kokeshi Dolls

Simply Sweet Stamps launched a few weeks back and as part of the launch were this set of Kokeshi Dolls.  There are lots of little sentiments and extras that go along with these three little cuties.

I placed them side by side and enlarged the sentiment to fit beneath them  They are coloured in pencil using gamsol for blending.  Not my usual choice as I like to use use rougher paper that is suitable for pencil on pencil blending.  However, I think these images are prefect for simple uncluttered designs and therefore a simpler style of colouring too.

If you like Sweet and Simple then go check out Simply Sweet Stamps.  Unicorns, fairies, cats, flowers, birds and these little cute Kokeshi.

She's called Coffee!!

Lili of the Valley have just released 12 new girly images and I was lucky enough to get colour this beauty.  She's called Coffee. I decided to give her red hair as I am trying to grow my hair colouring repertoire.  I seem to have been a one trick pony in that category, so time to try something new.

She's coloured in pencil, I just love her big pretty eyes and those little freckles.  I always think these images require very little embellishing so I kept my layout pretty simple.  The background is subtly inked with a stencil to just add a little interest.  I chose the sentiment as she just looked like that was something she might say.

The other girls are a mixture of styles some new and some more traditional LOTV. Pop on over and take a look.

Im going to pop her into the Anything Goes Challenge at
