Stamping challenge at Southern Girls

Its time for a new  challenge at Southern Girls and we'd like you to add some stamping.  Easy Peasy!!! Pull out a favourite or use a new stamp or maybe one you've had sitting around for ages and not inked up before.  Heres your opportunity.  We'd love to see your creations.

I chose some Neat & Tangled for my card today.  Beach Day this set is called and I love this little hippo with her big slice of watermelon.  Beach days are around the corner for us down under....they must be I'm sure.  Coloured in pencil and fussy cut with a paper pieced background.  All placed in a
lovely oval cutout.

Now go ink up some stamps and join in.

Pretty in Peach?

Its my pleasure to share a little card using stamps from Kennedy Grace Creations today.   I took my colouring inspiration from a magnolia tree that I pass on my way to school which had one random flower come to life.  I think it must have been testing the weather after a couple of nice days to see if spring had sprung.  It hasn't and no more flowers have bloomed since.

I had some die cuts sitting on my desk from a card I posted a couple of days ago.  I used the reverse cuts on that card so had these left aside.  Shame to waste them so I added them to the background of my flower.  My flower is coloured in pencil and fussy cut then popped up on foam.

To finish it off I added a pretty ribbon and some Kennedy Grace Mother of Pearl sequins.

See you soon

Hello Fall

I guess as spring is approaching us down here fall is indeed around the corner for many.  The August release at Frantic Stamper is full of gorgeous dies perfect for all your fall creations.  The card I am sharing today features  Gone to Seed a lovely die that I have reverse cut in card and backed in foam to lift it up from the background paper.

The background paper was just perfect colours for fall.  The design is pretty simple really backed in brown card stock and a ribbon catching the stems of the seed heads.  The sentiment is from the Grateful florals stamp set also new in this release.

I love the way the reverse cut really shows off this lovely die.

Time for a Kennedy Grace post today and I'm featuring another card using the stamp set called Graces Little Notes.   I went with autumn tones today, secretly, I actually really like all tones of orange.  The flower is coloured in pencil and fussy cut by hand the old fashioned way with a pair of scissors.  By the way if you are looking for a great pair of scissors for fussy cutting I can recommend EK Success Cutter Bee.  I have bought all sorts of scissors in the past from cheap and nasty to more reputable brands and I can honestly say Cutter Bee are the best by a long shot.  My family knows not to touch them unless they fear for their life.

Back to the card... it has a vintage feel to it with the papers I chose and I went with cream rather than white for the sentiment panel.    Its finished off with a few Peaches and Cream sequins.

Christmas Take III

Here is the third little card made using one of the about to be releases Lili of the Valley Christmas stamps.  Another gorgeous little creation called Little Gift.  I decided that I would go non traditional colours with this image but it ended up being a little difficult to turn the image into a card.  I love orange but of course it just clashed with all my Christmas papers.  Hadn't thought about that when I was rebelling against red and green.  So I ended up fussy cutting the characters and creating a little snow scene.  I think I saved it. I was determined to use it as it took so long to colour.

Now pop to the LOTV shop.
I challenge you to resist these cute little Christmas images.

Christmas Take II

Today I am sharing another Lili of the Valley Christmas card.  Another super adorable image being released Monday the 24th July.  Oh my you are going to love this release so much cuteness.  This one          is called Singing Robin.  I've coloured it in pencil and not really thinking coloured the bird house as part of the tree trunk which meant I had to be careful colouring my robin so he didn't get lost.

I then cut a frame and popped it up on foam, stamped  a sentiment and cut some sparkly silver snowflakes  with a small strip of silver down the side.

Mark your calendars for the 24th and pop to the store for a few more sneak peeks.

Hold on to your hat it's a Christmas card!!

I know right.... its the first one for the year.  Lili of the Valley are about to launch their Christmas stamps and if you love Christmas and you love cute, be assured you will not be disappointed.

This little cutie is called Mouse House.  Getting the decorations up on their wee watering can.    Its coloured in pencil with accents of wink of stella on the snow that doesn't show in the photo.  My layout is very simple as there is such a lot in the image I didn't want to take the focus away.  I chose blue paper over grey to lift the image and I always think blue and grey compliment each other so nicely.

There will be a couple more Christmas cards over the next day or so.
Make sure you pop back.
