Celebrating the N"EWE"ST release at Gerda Steiner Design

Welcome to my blog.  Gerda kindly invited me back to join the blog hop to celebrate her newest release.  As you have probably guessed its all about sheep.  Super cute sheep I might add.  Gerda has 3 sets to give away, all you have to do is leave a comment to be in with a chance to win.

You should have come to me from Weibke's blog, I'm sure you are super inspired
so hope I can add some more inspiration for you.

Here in New Zealand we are famous for our sheep. When there is a big Rugby match it is not uncommon to see sheep in team colours grazing happily in paddocks around the country.

Its such a great stamp set to create with.  There are lots of little accent stamps and sentiments to go with the sweet little sheep.  I am showcasing only two of the sheep and some of the many accents and sentiments.

Up first using one of the cute little sheep and mix and matching the sentiments
with a question mark from the set.

Up next using another cutie and this time masking
and stamping several times to make a family "flock" portrait.

And finally using the same little sheep this time singularly, with another sentiment
and the little bird and butterfly accents.

Heres the blog lineup so next up is Jess.
She has some more wonderful creations for you to enjoy.

Karen Oliver (that's me so you are here)

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to leave a comment for the chance to win
this super cute stamp set.

Hello with Wings

I was messing around with some dye sprays the other day, just for fun.  I didn't really like what I produced so I popped in my box of "stuff" that I periodically go through and put away or trash or simply put back in the box.  Its only a small box so I have to go through it reasonably regularly.  As I was going through it yesterday I found the piece of card and decide to die-cut some butterflies from it to see what they would look like.  I decided that actually they looked okay.

The butterfly is from the Paper Smooches Flap Happy stamp set cut using Wise Die Butterflies 1.  Using Paper Smooches Wise Die Frame 2,  I cut a frame popped it up slightly and stamped the hello also from Flap Happy.  Added some gorgeous little flower sequins and my card was complete.  It just goes to show that trash really can become treasure.

This is for the challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks July Anything Goes (wk1)

Odd Dog...

Odd Dog is one of the newest Lili of the Valley characters.  He has just been released on 7 new rubber stamps. This one is aptly called Odd Dog Balloon. Now he may be odd but he is also super cute.

I have been playing around with masking so I decided that whilst Odd Dog is holding onto a single balloon on the stamp, why stop at one.  Hence my Odd Dog has six.  I inked subtle clouds into the background but kept the rest of the design pretty simple. The papers come from Sunny Side Up and Up, Up and Away (appropriately).

Purrfect

This is the card I have made for the Designer Drafts Challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks.  I didn't want to use just straight cuts of paper so I lay my very small collection of Paper Smooches dies out to see what would come to me. The bookmark die was the only one calling out possibilities.
So I used this die, well part of it,  to create my banner using several different papers.  The cute little kitty is from Chubby Chums Stamp set as is the sentiment.

Skipping in the Flowers

I'm not sure how this is going to post as I am having to use my phone due to internet issues. This is my last card for this session of the My favorite things summer school and I really wanted to get it handed in.

So I am back this morning with a good photo and some edits to this post.

This card was made following lesson #3 Composition - Movement/Flow of the My Favourite Things Summer School.  I have to say I enjoyed attending summer school and am pleased this was session one suggesting there is more to come.

This lesson is about creating a sense of motion.  I had the idea to use this sweet little stamp from Lili of the Valley, aptly called Skipping.   I wanted to create the effect of her skipping in the flowers and catching them with her skipping rope sending them flying through the air.  The papers are from the new LOTV collection Romance and Roses.

She is water coloured and I got a little adventurous creating a background scene for her.

Thanks for stopping by
