Lili Of the Valley Collective Card

Hi there I have my next Collective card to share today. I posted a little sneak last week.  I have to admit this little fellow was stamped a few weeks back and I tried several different ways to colour him, none of which I was happy with so I pulled out (and dusted off) my watercolour pencils and quickly realised they were perfect for this image.  I hand drew the clouds into the background and added highlights with a white gel pen. He then sat for another few days as I couldn't decide how to put him on a card as I wanted the image to be the focal point.  I finally decided to keep the design pretty simple.  I don't know about you but I really like the end result.

And just because I feel you need to get up close to this one......

Chubby Chums - More of the gang!!

The Paper Smooches Chubby Chums set has 5 quirky little characters.  I have them all coloured but two still need to make it to a card.

This first card I made for my daughters friend for her birthday.  These characters and the sentiments which come from the Uplifters stamp set are just perfect for teenagers.  This girl loves owls and loves Instagram so the Owl chum was perfect for her and the # which comes from the Paper Smooches cardbooking set also fitted the brief, along with the straight speech bubble cut.  Behind the owl is a stitched tag cut at an angle.  I know she is going to get real chuckle from this, its just so her...

These are coloured with Derwent Coloursoft pencils.

Here is another Chum, this time the dog. The edge is cut using the cute clouds die cut.  I wanted a munched kind of look instead of a straight line as this little fellow just looks so naughty, don't be fooled by the little bow tie I added.   In behind him is a Paper Smooches die cut stitched tag.  The papers are from the LOTV Sunny Side Up Collection and I say it again they are perfect with these images.

I am linking these up for the July Guest Designer Search

Hey Chickie!!

I have been working along on the 30 Day Coloring Challenge trying to colour something every day.  This little Paper Smooches cutie is from a few days back, they are so fun to colour and you can mix the colours up a bit because they are so whimsical.  Chickie  and the sentiment are from the Chubby Chums stamp set.  The clouds are die cut with a Paper Smooches die cut called Cute Clouds.  I reverse cut them so you can see the background paper.  Talking about the paper this is one of the new paper pads from LOTV called Sunny Side Up and it works so perfectly with these stamps.

I am popping this into the challenge at The Paper Smooches Sparks,

Inspired by the 30 day colouring challenge

Have you heard or seen this.  Go take a look Kathy has some awesome tips and videos and is very talented.  Its really worth a look, you truly will not be disappointed.

I am so inspired to colour because of this challenge and try new things and let some other things just fly out the window because they don't really matter when colouring.

Heres an image I coloured a few days back and have just turned into a card.

Its yet another Lili of the Valley image (can't get enough of those) this one is called Fabulous Flower
oh and I see he is out of stock and unfortunately will now be discontinued.  Lucky me to have it.....yes its water coloured.  The papers are from Up Up and Away and One Birdie Lane. I love these die cut clouds from Paper Smooches.

Thanks for popping in!!

New paper Pads At LOTV

And they are gorgeous, just take a look. HERE.  There are three new paper pads some beautiful Landscape Art Pads and new sentiment stamps.

Before I post my card I would like to welcome my new followers.  Thanks for joining me I love to read your comments.

I have been playing with the Romance and Roses Collection, pretty pinks, soft blues and greens.  Just lovely.

The image is called Blossom she is water coloured and then fussy cut.  She is stuck down in places and popped up with foam dots in others.  I added the little "blossom" chain to her hair with extra stamped blossoms.  The new sentiment stamp along the bottom reads " with lots of love and best wishes".  I kept it pretty simple as its a shame to cover up that pretty paper so I added some ribbon and lace and a little mushroom charm to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Watercolour Challenge

Yes thats right a watercolour challenge.  Pretty Pink Posh  (fantastic blog - you must visit) are hosting this wonderful challenge where you need to include watercoloring in your project.  I have had watercolour paints and pencils forever and never really used them on cards until last week.

Heres a sneak of a card I made a few days back.   I had tried colouring the image in pencils and then markers and just wasn't happy with it.  As I sat staring at my supplies I saw my watercolour pencils tucked away in a corner, I dusted them off and as they say the rest is history.

Then by absolute chance, luck or some other intervention I came across Kathy's (The Daily Marker) blog (another fantastic blog). Kathy did a post about the watercolour challenge and after watching a couple of her tutorials I was more than curious and in for a real treat. I was so inspired I stamped a little image called Patchwork Butterfly from Lili Of The Valley and proceeded to have another go.  I coloured him with the intention of cutting him out till I realised just how difficult that would be with all his "fluff.

I have to admit, because I was going to cut it out I wasn't overly careful with the rest of the card so had to improvise and cover a couple of splodges.   So I added (water coloured) the background and set to making the card.

I cut and stamped a little tag from a piece of card I had practiced on.  I'm actually really happy with how this turned out.  In fact I look at it and can't quite believe I did it. I think I am pretty much sold on water colouring and think its just what I have been looking for, just need to practice some more.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
